Harbor County or Saugatuck?

Help us decide which to visit for our 10th anniversary trip. We first thought we'd go to Saugatuck, but then discovered Harbor County is closer and sounds quaint yet artsy and inviting. Which town in Harbor County area is best for quieter beaches/ walking to shops and restaurants, etc? We will be driving from St. Louis. Have looked at the VRBO but it seems most places you have to rent for a week and I don't know that we'll be staying that long. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Oops- Just realized I wrote Harbor County instead of Country. Sorry!

Definately Harbor Country. We love Union Pier but the little towns are so close, either one will do. The beaches are just amazing. The restaurants, wineries, the quiteness of the the whole area just adds to the whole atmosphere. Sand dunes (Warren State Park) will really entice you to come back. Rent bikes or bring your own. The back roads just ask for it.

New Buffalo is little more commercial. JSYK.

Have a wonderfuf trip whatever you decide.

At least we know which establishment NOT to patronize on our next visit.
