Hapuna Beach Prince-Breakfast nearby?
 

We are considering staying at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on the Big Island for 3 nights & were wondering if there were any restaurants nearby that offer reasonably priced breakfasts. Appreciate any info. Thanks.

There's a small town about 10 minutes away with a few restaurants that aren't too pricy. We had a small bar fridge in our room so we bought a few supplies (cereal, milk, juice, & sandwich stuff)in town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope you do as well!

Nearby and reasonable. That might be a challenge. We ate at the Hapuna off the menu, not the buffet and found the prices a little high... but not too bad. I would get some fruit and a bagel for about $5. Fine for me. There are places to eat breakfast at the Kings Shops about 25 minutes south if you are really looking for a bargin. Then again, we never went so I can't confirm prices. You will like the Hapuna. It's a wonderful resort.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Hapuna and it is beautiful, although a bit larger than what we prefer. Ate breakfast both mornings at the Ocean Terrace where the buffet was $22, although we chose items off the menu more in the $12-$15 range, which while high, was just part of our vacation experience. Waimea is some 15-20 minutes up the hill - we went up there for dinner one night and actually ended up probably spending more than if we'd have stayed at the Prince, and the little harbor town 10 minutes up the road had a Mexican place that looked interesting, but I didn't see anything there that looked like breakfast.

There is a little fridge in the room, so you could toss some things in there if you wanted.

We spent a wonderful Christmas holiday at the Hapuna and used our regular "travel brekkie" plan that works well. The Hapuna supplies coffee- mate pots (and ground coffee and decaf but it is not our favorite) and mini bar refrigerators that are wisely empty.We brought our own drip coffee filters (for the usual 2 cup pot), brought in a bag of our favorite ground coffee. We bought it and ground it at Costco in Maui,but there is a Costco near the airport at Kona, not to mention markets nearby, too. We love GOOD coffee! (NOTHING is near the Kohala coast hotels in the way of markets-stock up when you leave the airport) We also pick up fresh milk, yogurt, cereal and fruit at the local market in Kona. Call room service for bowls, plates, and silverware. They supply mugs, powdered "coffee whitener" and sugar.
If you want to go out, we loved the Paneolo Restaurant for a huge Hawaiian breakfast in Waimea, 20 minutes north.
The Hapuna also has a small "take out" near the front entrance, but it is pricey. Unless you require a big breakfast, stock up at a store when you arrive and request fresh china and silver from room service. Same goes for lunch. If you have a Costco card, take advantage of it and stuff the fridge!!!The breakfast at the hotel is great and features a big buffet ($17 Continental) for cereal, fruit, yougurt, coffee, juice, breads, all you can eat from the above!!!!) The omelet bar is delicious.
Pig out at breakfast and it might hold you until dinner! Plan accordingly and
HAVE A BALL!
