Happy Mother's Day
It's a fixed date here in Mexico, so I wanted to wish all moms the very best.
M (SMdA, Gto.) |
How nice mike!
And a happy mothers day to all of our fodorite mothers! |
My husband and daughter just stopped by my office to drop off a plant (a very sickly plant) that my daughter had planted at children's day at the library.
It's so cute sitting in it's ribbon taped dixie cup. It reminds me of the marigolds I used to plant in styrofoam cups for my mom for Mother's Day. :) |
My 3-yr-old just sent me a box of chocolates and roses to my classroom. Wow. He is smarter and more brilliant than I even thought! ;-)
|
Thank you mikemo..what a nice thought.
I will be with my family Mother's Day..SIL will do the cooking. Italian SIL's are great..they love their mothers and MIL's generally speaking and they are fantastic cooks! Take care mikemo..and wishing you a fun and relaxing weekend. |
Divingaggie: Your 3 year old is brilliant! :)
|
kureiff--hee-hee, I know! And your gift was great. I love the homemade things--doesn't every mother? It'll be a fun thing to watch, especially when it gets some attention and actually grows. Your daughter will love watching it.
Oh, and mike, I forgot to thank you for your post. Very thoughtful! |
divingaggie, that is SO sweet!!
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! I'm not a mom but I have a mom and I think moms rock!!! :-) |
The homemade gifts are great. I think my mom's favorite gift is a homemade snowglobe that my little brother made for her when he was four.
He took a mason canning jar added water and red glitter and glued in a plastic Hercules figurine. It's the funniest snowglobe you've ever seen, and the most treasured! |
I'm not a mother (yet) but what a sweet gesture!
DH and I are surprising my mom on Mothers Day with a paid trip to Ireland. She will join us there in February. Her first trip overseas, and she has always wanted to go, so I can't wait to share the news! Tracy |
Tracy--what a special gift! You and your mom will never forget it!
|
Thank you, Mike!
I have no idea what my family is planning for me, but I'm sure it will be good. :-) Lee Ann |
Thanks, Mike. That was so thoughtful of you! And now I know why one of the women I work with (she's Mexican) was organizing a Mother's Day party in the park today!
|
Nice, Mike.
My boys are 30ish and I have clay/painted "ashtrays" they both made in school prominently displayed in my etagere. Happy Happy to all you moms. |
Thanks Mike! Many of the school girls were taking home craft supplies to make cards for their mothers today. ((l))
Homemade gifts...where do I begin? :) I have a variety of clay masterpieces from both of my sons. One holds paper clips on my desk and then there is the little bird in the family room, and the beautiful trivet in my kitchen. I love the rock that my youngest gave me. He painted it and then pasted a picture of himself on it. He found a picture I took of him when he was 3 years old -- he had just covered his face and hands with that white Desitin cream (he smelled like a fish for a few days, lol) :) One year, I think it was when my oldest was in first grade, he decorated the paper that goes inside one of those clear, plastic flower pots. He planted a white Impatiens flower in it -- it sat on my kitchen windowsill (and various other places in the house to try and keep it alive) for 13 years, lol. It turned into the most legged, pathetic looking plant in the world -- it's gone now, but I still have the pot (and the memories). Priceless, memories ~ sigh. ((l)) Happy Mother's Day! ((f)) |
happy mom's day to me...
happy mom's day to me... My kids said: we don't want to spoil the surprise, but don't make any lunch plans! Details to follow :) |
Beautiful stories about Mothers Day presents thank to you mikemo!
I have a piece of a white cloth with a flower embroidered on it in blue and purple and greens that my dear daughter made when she was about six years old. It is perfect, but when you look at the back of the cloth, oh my LOL. One of most precious possessions. And for those of you who are not mothers..do know that somewhere in your life you were a role model and a mothering figure to some child. I always remember my sixth grade teacher who never married and never had any children. To this day I remember the various comments she made to us about life. She was a true role model. |
