Happy Day, a new airline for us in NJ.
Many of you know that I'm now a 'reverse' snowbird, spending most of the year (including all winter) in west central New Jersey, while my home in Naples, Florida is simply an occasional getaway. Flying back and forth is kind of a pain. The two hour drive to Newark, the incredible parking rates, horrendous lines at security, the madness of the airport, etc. make it a less than pleasant experience. Philadelphia airport is closer for us, but very limited with non stop flights. But at last -- Frontier Airlines has started non stop flights between Trenton/Mercer and Ft. Myers! It's a 20 minute drive for us and offers FREE parking for weeks at a time if you want! You only need to arrive at this tiny airport 30 minutes before flight time (if not checking luggage). I just booked tickets in May for $68 each way for each of us! Wow! And also I booked flights to New Orleans from there -- also non stop -- in April for the same price! Perhaps flying can become fun again! I'm so excited.

I recently heard about this. Kep in mind that they can cancel flights at the last minute if they don't have enough bookings. A friend has been using Frontier to fly from Boston into Trenton/Mercer but has had to be flexible in her travel plans.
Have you looked into Spirit out of Atlantic City? My sister lives in Lawreceville, NJ and has a house in Venice and uses this exclusively to go back and forth.

I do know people who take Spirit out of AC, but they no longer have free parking. And have heard that Spirit has no back up planes so flights have been canceled when there are problems....which I assume could happen with any small airline.

Not bad. A coworker of mine was talking about flying from Trenton to Orlando for a family vacation in June. They have a lot of children going so thought it would be easier for them, not to mention the money they could save.
Airlines have come and gone from the Trenton airport. They don't last very long and it has been a while since they offered passenger airline serivce. Many years ago, they offered service to North Carolina and I used them once. It is convenient for those of us in the Mercer and Bucks county areas so maybe this time they will stick around longer.
