handicapped - quick access to street
 

I am travelling with an individual that can't walk very well, although she can get around pretty good. I'm looking for a hotel that we can stay at where we don't have to walk so far to get to the street. Want to stay mid strip like where Ceasars is located and want a nicer hotel. Hope you can help me. Thanks

First a suggestion: Next time, put your destination in the title.

Second, a recommendation: Although it's a tough order (most of the resorts are set back from Las Vegas Blvd.), Mirage is practically smack-dab center Strip, and the walk to the street from the main entrance is comparably short.

The Flamingo is set very close to the street and so is Aladdin/Planet Hollywood. Paris is reasonable if you cut through the casino. Ballys has moving sidewalks that take you right to the street with very little walking (other than the 75+ yard trek to the street escalator from the room elevators).

The question is what are you going to do once you get to the street? That's where the real walking begins even from the above hotels.

Thanks for the advise! My friend can move around pretty good and hopefully get around within the hotel and shopping with a few rests. Thought that I would use a wheelchair so we can "do" the strip so she can see the sights. She has such an adventurous nature! Is the Bellagio set too far back. These hotels are like cities in themselves!!!

In some hotels it is a hike from the guest-room elevators through gambling areas to the front door. Definitely rent a wheelchair -- it will come in handy inside the hotel, between hotel and street, and up and down the Strip. Have fun!

Bellagio is set back quite a ways from the street, and also is quite a hike up. There is a sidewalk along the "lake" that leads up to the lobby area from the street.
