Hanalei
Can someone recommend a nice place to stay in Hanalei in October? We are only staying on Kauai for 4 nights in and prefer B & B's and small hotels to resorts. We would also like to keep the cost low....under $200 per night, if possible. thanks.

There are no traditional B&Bs in Hanalei -- but there are many, many vacation homes for rent. These two companies have been handling vacation rental properties in Hanalei for decades:

There are no small resorts or hotels IN Hanalei. There is the Hanalei Colony Resort, which is really in Haena and is out of your price range.
For a b and b, try: Hanalei Inn. There are lots of vacation rentals there, some for as little as $100 a night. Many of them do have a 5 night minimum. vrbo.com has some listings and so do these agencies: www.napaliprop.com I rented a place called the Plantation Cottage. It is around $200 a night. wwww.kauaivacationrentals.com www.balihai.com www.aninaloha.com -Bill |
Hi auntie!

Try Hale Reed. It's one block away from the beach--across Weke Road--and about 2 minutes walk to the beach pavilion.

Check our Hanalei Moon Cottage. It is a little over $200/nt http://www.beachkauai.com/Hanaleimoon.html- and the pictures are accurate. You walk across the yard and you are on the beach. The cottage is very comfortable. We enjoyed our time there a few years ago.

You can check out this link. It lists 50 B&B's. Some are on Kauai.
