Hampton Inn-downtown Pittsburgh Vs. Double Tree Downtown Pittsburgh
We are using hotel reward points from Hilton hotels while on our Summer road trip this year. One stop will be in Pittsburgh. I have read from another travel sight that Hampton Inn was better rated than Double Tree. Not sure how far the Hampton Inn is to all the sites downtown. Can anyone give advice on the Hampton Inn or if someone can tell me about the Double Tree that would be helpful to so that I can make a decision. We have are a family of five (3 boys and mom and dad).
Thanks in advance for any assistance. MidAtlanticMom |
I don't think there is a Hampton Inn downtown.
there's one in Monroeville, and one in Oakland. The Oakland location might be good, it's not far from downtown, and there are a lot of places to see in Oakland, such as the Carnegie museums and the Phipps Conservatory. |

The address is smallman street. Not sure if I was wrong about saying "downtown" or not in my post. We can't wait to start out our trip out there. The Hampton Inn seems closer to the Incline parking lot. |
Smallman St.
I didn't know there was one there. That is downtown, in the Strip District, 2 blocks past the Convention Center. Also hotel is near the John Heinz History Centre. And a great meal can be had at Lidia's! From the Convention Center you can get to any downtown site you wish to see/find. You'll need a taxi or bus to get to any Oakland, SouthSide, or NorthShore sites. YOu might want to check out the Double Decker Tour bus, a fun way to see many sites---one of their stops is at the Heinz Center right near the Hampton Inn. http://www.pghtours.com/Home_Page.html |
