Hampton Inn corolla, restaurants in outer banks

Hi,
Has anyone stayed at the Hampton Inn SUites in Corolla? Looks nice on the web site. Can anyone recommend not-too-pricey restaurants in the outer banks where the food is good but you're not paying for atmosphere?

Thanks!!!

Hi

We did not stay at the Hampton Inn, but rented a house nearby. It did look brand new and very nice. It is right on the beach. It is also the only hotel around- it is surrounded by residential areas. There are lots of casual restaurants in Corolla and Duck. Have fun.

The Flying Fish (MP 10 Business Rd) is one of my very favorite places. Excellent food, kind of new American cuisine. Wonderful wine list and fantastic desserts.

Not real close to Corolla though.

The Blue Point in Duck is our very favorite restaurant between DC and Florida. Funky diner-like atmosphere with 1st class food and service. Pigmans has a small shop in Duck and one on the main drag going to Nags Head---great barbecue be it pork, turkey or even tuna. Duck Deli for a quick bite. Corolla restaurants are kind of new because its just been built up in the last 5-10 years.

Sister, just realized you are the one I suggested Blue Point to already! Anyway, as for Fresh Catch restaurants, all the better spots will have good fresh fish. So close to the Gulf Stream it's a fisherman's paradise. We always rent a house for two weeks and cook ourselves most every night, so not a lot of other suggestions, sorry.

Thanks, Doots, for your continued input. Thanks to everyone else too.

If you had been able to see Corolla 15 or 20 years ago when it was basically a pristine barrier island with beautiful, unspoiled beaches, fabulous tidal wetlands (with birds too numerous to mention), a barren, dramatic landscape with ponderosa pine and live oak wonderfully sculptured by wind, and teaming with wildlife - well, many people would be sick to see it now. I know I am.
