Hampton Inn Charleston Historic District
I would appreciate it if anyone has any info. or reviews about this hotel.

John, we peeked in when we were staying next door at the Embassy Suites. It's a real find in Charleston, and a great price. Not your typical Hampton Inn. Very nice and in a great location. You can't go wrong. For about $10 more you can stay at the Embassy suites which was an awesome hotel. It's next door and built in a historic building which was the original Citadel. Very neat architecture, big rooms and a great cooked buffet breakfast and Happy Hour. The Hampton Inn also includes breakfast, I believe.

I think both are the best deals in Charleston. We popped into several hotes that were twice the price and no nicer. I would recommend it.

Nina, if you don't mind me asking, where did you find out that the Embassy was only 10$ more. I would always prefer to stay at the Embassy but I'm paying 89$ at the Hampton and the Embassy was charging something like $159. I'm staying over New Years so maybe that's why but if you have any extra info I'd really appreciate it!

Right off of there website! It was August of 2001, and I distinctly remember the price was $99 and Hampton Inn was $89. We have 2 kids so the separate room (and TV, and micro and fridge) were well worth it for us. Maybe it was so low because it was August?

If the difference is $70 a night though, stay at the Hampton Inn. It really was very nice, in a nice old building that was gutted and redone. I would grab it for New Years eve at that price.
