Halloween weekend in New Orleans?
We just got tix to go down to New Orleans Oct 26-29, the weekend before Halloween. I found a site that lists some possibilities, mainly two rave parties (http://www.halloweenneworleans.com/), but I wondered what other events, activities migth be going on that are more our speed and should be booked or planned in advance. Any ideas? I know the town's typically hopping during that weekend so we don't want to miss out!

Halloween in New Orleans (the web site you mentioned) is NOT a rave party! It's a four day event which includes a dance party on Saturday night. Crowd is predominantly gay/lesbian but everyone is welcome, and all proceeds benefit the local hospice, Project Lazarus.

John's right...Halloween in New Orleans IS NOT a rave party...it's the HOTTEST ticket in town! We had 8000 people in costume last year and raised over $400,000 for Lazarus House. Everyone is welcome at the parties!...Thursday night Silent Auction at the Ritz Carlton, Friday, Out of Towners Party, Saturday night Ball and Sunday a gosbel brunch at the House of Blues. <BR>Rob

Even if you do not attend one of the organized parties,(sometimes we do, sometimes we don't) you will have a blast that weekend. This is our seventh year and have always had a GREAT time. Many of the bars will be decorated and LOTS of people in the quarter costumed. Trust me, you will have a wonderful time. (The Halloween party you mentioned IS the absolute best place to see elaborate costumes, but you can also see them on Bourbon St.)

Ah, thanks for clearing it up! The DH reference and look of the site threw me. Good luck with the events!

Also, as a follow-up, the Sunday event sounds like our speed (Gospel Brunch), but it sounds like it does sell out. Anyway to get tix other than going to all the other events?
