Halloween night nyc

is it a problem being out and around in NYC on halloween evening?

I guess that depends on what you consider "a problem" ;)

We do have that big Halloween parade in the village and the streets in the area and beyond are packed. It's mostly a teens, 20s and 30s crowd.
On the other hand, this ain't the burbs, and we don't get a lot of egging of cars and toilet paper on trees--at least not in Manhattan

Due to the nature of Manhattan (locked or doorman apartment houses) you don;t get much tick or treating - except for very small kids in their own buildings.

As for being out and about - not sure what you're afraid of - unless you plan on parking a very expensive car on the street. (And - it's far more likely to be egged in the suburbs than here.)

Problem? What kind of problem might you fear?

Like every other night of the year, NYC is the safest large city in the USA on 10/31.

I think there are more vampires out on Halloween than usual.

There's usually some really great concerts slated for that evening if you care to see any live music...
