Halloween--Maui

Has anyone been to Maui on Halloween? Any special festivities planned? Anyplace in particular to go? Thanks

Penny,
I've never been to Maui at Halloween but the place to be is Lahaina. There's a huge parade. If your library has copies of Hawaii magazine, try looking thru back copies. There was an article about the Lahaina parade in Hawaii magazine a couple of years ago.

Penny,
Lahaina on Halloween is like Mardi Gras. People are dressed in outrageous, fabulous costumes, the energy is high, and it's one huge party. Definitely the place to be on Halloween if crowds don't bother you.

I'll be in Lahaina for the fun. I hope all is still planned. Our family has a number of weeks at the Sands of Kahana since '95 and Halloween is when we go.
And I will agree that its huge, must say that it not a place for kids the later it gets.

Halloween in Lahaina is called the "Mardi Gras of the Pacific". The crowds are huge -- but the festivities are very tame compared to the real Mardi Gras.
