Halfway point between Calif. and midwest

I need help finding a place for a family reunion. The family is fairly evenly located in California and the midwest (Nebraska, Kansas, Texas). We are looking for a resort-type place that we could meet at and that would be somewhat in the middle, for those who want to drive. It would also be nice if there was a major airport within 2 hours of the place. Accomodations do not have to be fancy; in fact, we are looking for a place that is affordable ($80-$150) a night. There will be children, so it would be good if there are amenities on site or nearby that would appeal to them. Thanks in advance to those who have suggestions!

Taos?

Utah, in general looks well located for you, but I don't know of any resort areas around Salt Lake City (which would be a major airport)

Albuquerque looks like another good option

When is your reunion? Vail and other skii resorts in Colorado are fun and inexpensive during the skiing off-season. It's a bit longish for the CA folks, bot not too bad.

Las Vegas. Something for everybody.

Broadmoor in Colorado Springs would be perfect.

Albequerque and Salt Lake City were two possibilities I had considered. Taos seems interesting also. Any specific resorts or hotels in these cities? Thanks.

Several years ago my family took a road trip and spent a couple nights in Glenwood Springs Colorado. We really enjoyed it and I have always wanted to go back and spend a little more time. The location is really beautiful and there is a resort with a hot spring-fed pool. Also plenty of opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities. I remember the town itself was nice too - good for strolling around, window shopping, and so on.

I think that Denver is only a couple hours from there, so that might be a possibility.

Instead of Taos, you should be looking at hotels in Santa Fe.

I'm thinking Denver would be a good place to fly into, and then the Dillon/Frisco area would be nice.
