Hair Cut in NYC

Hi,

I will be in NYC, staying around East 79/80th street. With the way my schedule is, I will not have time for a haircut before arriving.

Since I don't know the city too well, can someone suggest a place for a guy to get an inexpensive, but good haircut around that area?

Thanks very much!

There are Jean Louis David salons all over the city. That's where I usually go to get a quick cut when I'm in town. Do an on line search for them, and I'm sure you'll come up with one close by where you're staying.

They do not take appointments, so it's relatively easy to go, get in line (so to speak) and get in and out quickly. Word of advice....go when most people are at work since evenings tend to be more crowded.

Henry is looking for an inexpensive place for a hair cut. While the term "inexpensive" is relative a Jean Louis David salon is certainlly not inexpensive.

Sorry...it's pretty inexpensive compared to what I pay where I live.

henry, there's a SUPERCUTS on Second Avenue at 85th Street, southeast corner. $15 for a good haircut.

There's a Dramatics on 84th or 85th and 3rd that goes for about $20+. There's a traditional barbershop on 3rd between 92nd and 94th, across from New York Sports Club thats around $15.

Try L'amour de Hair (spelling may be off). It's on 3rd Ave. in the 80's (84th I think). It's relatively inexpensive for a haircut (well, for women anyway).
