Guys forum Trip
I am in charge of planning a trip for 10 professional men and am looking for a first class destination where we can conduct business meetings and outside activities (such as golf, etc.) Have already been to Las Vegas, Cuba, Napa, Cabo, San Diego. Any ideas on any first class resorts? Thank you.

What time of year?
|
Sounds like a typical group in Naples, Florida, particularly at either the Ritz on the Beach or the Ritz's new Golf Resort. But I wouldn't do it in July or August!!
|
There are lots of places in Fla. The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla. is popular for that. The Boca Raton Club. I just read about a new, I think, Four Seasons with golf in Jupiter, Fla. There's a Ritz Carlton in Palm Beach (really Manalapan). A Westin Diplomat in Hollywood.
There are also plenty of places in Phoenix. And then there's Bermuda....I haven't been in years but the Southampton Princess there used to be terrific. Also Hilton Head, Kiawah Island. |
Palm Springs.
|
Mauna Lani, Orchid or Hapuna Beach Prince (in that order) on the Big Island of Hawaii. First-class service and amenities, always warm and (almost) always dry, and unbelievable golf courses. Add the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel to the list if you prefer a quieter environment.
|
Sunriver Resort in Oregon. Lots of golfing...try Crosswater there. Not sure if there are wives, or if there are if they are coming...but if so there is a wonderful spa there. Also lots of tennis, hiking, skiing (wintertime obviously), etc. Just a lot to do and a really nice resort!

if it's August you might try Whistler, British Columbia.
|
actually no wives and it will be in September for 4 days.
|
San Antonio and The Hill Country?
|
Broadmoor in Colorado, Homestead in Virginia, Hill Country as mentioned before. Sonoma Mission Inn north of SF - or splurge and go to Pebble Beach
|
Hello Russell! Turnberry Isle wld be perfect for you & the guys. Fly into Miami. www.turnberryisle.com
You can have your meetings, golf &/or sail. Close enough to action if you need it. |
Actually, since you've listed the date as September, I'd forget about any place in Florida. Likely to be the rainy season (not to mention height of hurricane season), and guaranteed to be hot and humid!
The Colorado sites come to mind -- Aspen? |
September means skip Phoenix, Tucson, Naples and Palm Springs.
Considerations outside California: Aspen (St. Regis, Little Nell, Hotel Jerome) Greenbrier WV Amelia Island FL (Ritz Carlton) Many options in Hawaii Lake Tahoe (Caesar's is not world class, but the location is) Sedona AZ (Enchantment) Wild Dunes/Charleston SC Hilton Head SC (largest number of golf holes per sq mile in the USA) American Club, Kohler WI Lake Geneva WI (hour north of Chicago) Keswick Hall VA (hour outside DC) Bermuda Grand Cayman (Hyatt; Ritz Carlton will open one of these years, slated for late 2004) Scotland (of course) |
Another option - Mackinac Island, Michigan. You could stay at the pricey Grand Hotel, but there are other options. There is at least one golf course on the island. And, since kids are back in school, there should be fewer little ones running around everywhere.
|
I used to plan incentive trips and meetings and my favorite destinations (also had the best reviews from attendees):
Aspen, CO (St. Regis) Maui, HI (Four Seasons, Wailea) Florida--Turnberry Isle Resort & Spa These are absolutely the best three I've been to for this type of trip--great service, good golfing nearby, lots of other activites, and great space for meetings, etc. |
Without wives, I recommend the Dominican Republic or Costa Rica-Have fun.I just got back with the guys from the Superbowl-Stay away from here-Miami during July, Aug and Sept.
