Gulf Shores Plantation in Alabama

Has anybody stayed here recently? This is where we(me, Dh and 3-yr-old) are thinking of spending the last week in June. If you have, what did you think? Thanks!

We have not stayed there since we sold our unit there 3yrs ago. It has had a change of management. The beach is terrific and the facilities ok. My only comment is that it is 13 miles from GS down Fort Morgan Rd. This can be inconvenient, Buy supplies before you head down that rd.

Thanks for the advice. We are looking forward to going because most of the reviews we've read have been good. We'll probably get there and do a checklist of things we need and then go shopping.

While it's on my mind
Be sure to stop at Burris Fruit Stand in Robertsdale (long before Ft Morgan Rd) for fruits, veggies, sausage ,have some fruit pie and ice cream. You can't miss it--Highway 59 in R'dale!!

Perfect! We did that when we spent time down in Padre. I will definitely put that on our list of things to do and visit!

I have been to Ft. Morgan 5 times since October 2005. I love it. We rent beach cottages within walking distance to the GSP. It is rather isolated, but that's what I like about it. However, during the summer, it will probably much more populated. The other writer is correct in that it is 10+ miles or so from a large grocery store/video so be sure to take your items with you unless you don't mind the ride back and forth. There is a convenience store near there, but it marks its items up a good bit.
