Gulf Shore Beaches
 

We're looking for places to stay along AL/MS shores with nice clean beaches for our family. Not much interested in sightseeing stuff, but some place where we can just swim and hang for a day or two. From there we will be driving north to Chattanooga so needs to be not too far east of Mobile.

Perdido Beach Resort is the best. Super hotel and resturant. You'll love the beach. Ask for a corner room overlooking the pool and beach with a balcony. pay theextra money.

John is exactly right. We stayed at the Perdido Beach Resort a couple of years ago and it was wonderful. We had an inside corner suite that faced the pool and the gulf and it was great. Apparently they have two bedroom suites, too.

We have been to Dauphin Island several times. Very "non-touristy" with lots of beach houses to rent for very reasonable prices.

I have been to both Dauphin Island and to Perdido Beach Resort. I love Perdido Beach Resort! There is a lot to do there and good for the kids. Dauphin Island is nice but there is really nothing to do there. If you have kids, they would get bored and there is really no place to eat there. Nice day trip though!
