Gulf of Florida/Florida Keys
 

We are looking to plan a trip for sometime this spring. We are an early 30's couple looking a 5-6 day trip. We would love to see some nice sunsets, go to some fun restaurants, and enjoy the beach. I am hoping for any recommendations for planning a trip that involves flying into Miami or Fort Myers and checking out part of the Florida Keys.
Is Key West worth visiting for a few days?
Is there some place better in the Keys to go check out?
Should the plan be to enjoy a few days on the beach in Fort Myers/Naples area then go to the Keys?

There is a Fort Myers to Key West ferry.

to drive to Key West is close to 6 hrs and a 2 lane highway.The Key West Express is close to 4 hrs and costs $155. If weather turns bad you could be stuck there overnight.
