Great restaurants

We will be in Vegas for a week, staying at Bellagio, and are interested in restaurant suggestions, both fine and casual. We would prefer to eat at Bellagio majority of time, but maybe go outside of hotel for a few nights (maybe Delmonico at Venetian, Aureole and M bay, etc.).

All the restaruants in Bellagio are great. You can't go wrong with any of them. Make reservations for dinner at any of them, especially Picasso, well in advance. Go to the website for a description of all of them.

LOVED Aureole. Though it's far from the Bellagio, it's 100% worth it. Go for a martini at Red Square also in Mandalay Bay where the bar is made of ice to keep your drink cold. Then plan for a relaxed, leisurely dinner at Aureole. They have one of the finest wine lists in the world, the menu is varied and the food wonderful. Don't pass this up. Make sure you have a reservation as far in advance as possible.

We also ate at Delmonico's and were very disappointed. It was very mediocre, the room claustrophobic and the crowd very stodgy and speaking in whispers. The prices were insane for very average food. For a steak, I'd rather The Palm.

I'd also pass on Olives at The Bellagio. Major attitude from staff, very poor service. I asked for no mayo on a sandwich (it was lunch) and was told and I quote, "The chef has taken great pains(!) to develop the menu and does not make any substitutions or changes. The way the food is prepared is the way he believes it should be consumed."!!!!

I am going to Las vegas next Sat. I have been searching for a all you can eat Lobster dinner but at a great rate. I found that the French Cafe in the Orleans Hotel and casino has 7.77 steak(10oz)and lobster tail. Can anyone tell me about this place. Will I leave Vegas with food poisining (sp)? Can anyone tell me of a cheap buffet with all the lobster you can eat.I think so far the cheapest is about 20.00 with one whole lobster. We are staying at treasure island for the second time in 2 years. We will be going to the older section for the first time though. I hear they have 49 and 99 shrimp coctail at a few places. Sounds like a good time. thanks, Shar

Aqua in Bellagio is very good! It is also sometimes difficult to get a reservation but just keep trying. Ditto on Picasso. We tried Aureole 2x and found both the service and food substandard. They do have a wonderful winelist and the way each bottle is retrieved by "wine angels" is not to be missed. Go there for that but not for dinner.

Shar,

There is a seafood all you can eat buffet in the Rio hotel. No reservation necessary. I can't think of the name of it at the moment, but it should still be there and the price wasn't too bad if I recall.

If I remember more details, I'll post back.
