Gulf Coast in the Spring

I'd like to go down to the Gulf coast (Texas to Florida Panhandle) sometime next March. Anyone have any suggestions for nice quiet places, on the beach, to spend a week?

Thanks

I live in Ocean Springs, MS. This is quiet small town across the bay from the casinos in Biloxi, Ms. It has a very nice museum and quaint shops and several excellent restaurants.

Another hidden spot in Florida is Seaside. This "beach town" is just to the east of Destin on state highway 30A. Worth the trip just to see!! Several years ago voted the best beach in the country.

Hope this will give you some choices.

Respectfully,
John

We spend a long weekend every May in Destin, Fl.Our place of choice is the Sandestin Hilton. Beautiful, uncrowded beach, indoor pool for cool or rainy days, interesting resturants in a few miles radius. We've been to Gulf Shores, Al, Pensacola and Panama City, Fla, but Sandestin is where we look forward to every year. Hope you enjoy your trip.

I spent many summers in the Florida Panhandle and think the Destin area is the best beach and prettiest water.

One of my most memorable vacations was in Gulf Shores, AL, a few years ago. Don't remember the hotel name, but it seemed to me that most of the beach was quite peaceful. I love to sit and unwind on the beach, and I did so with little interruption. When my husband and I went, we just picked a hotel on the beach, and had a very relaxing vacation. Good luck on yours!

Hi, again! I just saw another entry earlier than yours -- "Gulf coast opinions please" posted on 8/8/97. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out...local restaurants, etc. discussed there. :o)
