Gulf Coast - 3 women in Florida

I would like to go for a 4 day getaway for me and my 2 sisters. I was thinking about the gulf coast of Florida. We are interesting in relaxing by the beach, shopping, and some evening entertainment. What would be the best place for us to go? St. Petersburg/Fort Myers, etc? Do not want to drive far from airport. Thanks

Either would be fine. But you will have more shopping and more night life to choose from in St. Petersburg.

The best place is actually South Beach on the east coast for your list of activities... for a relaxing spa type getaway with upscale shopping...it might be Naples... Ft Myers is not as well known for dining and nitelife, but you might like Sanibel...

I would look into Sarasota. Nice beaches, great shopping on St. Armand's, and good dining and evening out options.

Lido Beach was my first thought too. Great beach, St. Armands for shopping and eating, there is a Ritz just over the bridge across from Jack...??? Marina that probaby has a spa.

BTW, you can fly directly into Sarasota but it isn't much farther to fly into Tampa and you are likely to get a better deal as you may find more direct flights from your city.

Perfect weather. Can't tell you specifics but if you go to www. weather.com and type in a city you can scroll down and look at monthly average his and lows. Warmer than "spring break" time in March/April and not hot like June/July.

I was between Clearwater and St. Pete last year for the first weekend in May and there were no crowds, actually no one on the beach, and beautiful weather.
