Group events in DC
Has anyone attended or planned a group event in Washington DC? I'm hosting a meeting for 125 people in late March / early April and would like to provide an evening activity perhaps with dinner. All ideas and experience welcomed.

Contact the Washington DC Convention and Visitors Bureau and they will send out requests for proposals to hotels and venues on your behalf.
Insist upon a site inspection before you book a hotel. Get your March/April dates booked by Christmas or you will find pickings are slim. Some associations will book hotels 5 years in advance for premium March/April dates. Find out your comp ratio. Again, DO NOT sit on this, get something booked NOW. Good luck. |
The hotel is set (and has been for years). I'm loking for advice on special events for the group. Any suggestions?

hpl, I attended a number of evening corporate events aboard the cruise ship Dandy which leaves out of Alexandria and does a loop tour up the Potomac to Georgetown. For me it was like Sartre's No Exit but presumably your group of 125 like one another. The food was just fine but the views of DC from the river were beautiful.

In a Presidential Election year, I think you should send a letter to the RNC and DNC, and tell them the one with the best party gets all 125 votes.
