Grounds for Sculpture

When I wrote this in 2020, many museums were closed. Because GfS are mostly outside, timed entrances were allowed. Has anyone visited lately?

Edited from my 2020 TR entry #9: Sculptor, the late Seward Johnson, produced a life-sized "Boating Party" and many other mostly Impressionists works. They were shown at the Corcoran gallery in the 1980s and were fabulous. He actually replicated van Gogh's bedroom---visitors' children played on the bed. It was delightful. A local WAPO reporter totally panned it.

I believe the "Boating Party" sculpture now resides at the Phillips in D.C.

Yes, I visited end of August this year. It was the first time I’ve been and live 15 mins away. It was very crowded at the entrance even with the timed entry still in place. When we left, the parking lot was half full when entering, the parking was all the way in the back. I’m not sure if it was because we went for Pokémon community day for the kids.

I do know, some sculptures are changed out to keep interest going. I probably won’t return for a while because of that and maybe at a different time of year. We did enjoy it but would just give it time before make a return visit.

I hadn't heard about this museum until I read your message and looked it up. It looks fascinating! Now I need to plan a trip.

Thanks, KTtravel. Please do a TR!

I googled 'Seward Johnson's 'Olympia' and this 2015 link came up:
