The most moving site to commemorate 9/11 is the old St.Paul's church (where Washington prayed). The interior is filled with exhibits and momentos. They know that we will all be moved, and have boxes of kleenex at every pillar.

The chapel is on Broadway and Vesey St., just one block east of Ground Zero. You can't miss it.

The cemetery behind the chapel is directly across Church St. from the WTC site.

By chance anyone reads this thread and they are considering visting Ground Zero, please, please do not patronize the vipers selling photos and souvenirs of that day. In time, I'm sure it'll be no different than Gettysburg or Pearl Harbor. But for now, it's just the height of insensitivity IMHO.

I am with Ryan on this one. Sometimes I just want to smack them.

St. Pauls Chapel is on Broadway, if you are taking the Subway, it is a block south of the City Hall stop (4,5,6, Lex Ave trains). As you head south on Broadway it will be on the corner on your right.

I went to the site 2 years ago...my last NYC visit was walking through an orchid festival after the WTC into the Fin Services Ctr...such a lovely memory.

I seriously could NOt believ thos huys selling pictures and books I nearly punched him and told him to feck off. I spent a few years commuting through here and luckily did not lose my best pal who was in the pasth when it started.

The Church is lovely always admired it.

Trinity Church is interesting as well (St. Paul's is a parish of Trinish, both Episcopal). You can see the roots of the 100-yr old sycamore that was downed during 9/11 at St. Paul's and converted to a sculpture outside of Trinity church.

also, you can see the original girder cross that was discovered in the WTC site outside of St. Peter's on Church Street (about a block north of St. Paul's).

if you go over to the Winter Garden in the World Financial Center, you can have an amazing view of where the WTC buildings stood.
