How do we get from JFK to the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan??

We have taveled over much of the world but never to NYC :-B

Since the Grand Hyatt is right near Grand Central, take the NY Airport Service bus to Grand Central. However if you have more than 2 people - or luggage that you cannot carry a block -get a yellow cab instead. Just look for the taxi line outside baggage claim.

3. Private bus
4. Private shuttle (Super Shuttle)
5. Public transporation (airtrain + subway)

Variable include your budget, how much time you want to waste, and how much luggage you have.

(FYI the Grand Hyatt is basically on top of Grand Central Station. Visit the New York MTA website for more info.)

Easiest way IMO is to just hop in a cab. The flat rate is about $45 plus tolls and tip.

Cab.

For 3 or more a cab is the fastest, best choice - $45 flat fee plus toll of $4.50 and tip (15-20% of the fare but not the toll).

For two people the shuttle is slightly less - but you will need to be able to tote your luggage to the hotel - but only abut a block.

Taking the Air Train - which gets you to either the LIRR or the subway is much cheaper. But then you either need to take a cab or the subway from Penn Sta to Grand Central - or manever the subway directly to Grand Central. Note that the subways can have many stairs and long hallways to negotiate. IMHO all this trekking makes sense to me only if you have one small carry-on - that you literally carry rather than pull.
