grosvenor resort @ disneyworld

What is your opinion on the Grosvenor Resort @ Disneyworld? Any recommendations for other places within the same price range? Will be there the last week of October and plan on staying in the park.

You can't go wrong with any Disney (near Disney) hotel, especially the larger ones; Mariott World Center and Hilton are worth the visit if just to see the lobbies. Haven't been to Grosvenor, sorry. There is not enought time to see every nice hotel in the area.
If you do not get a response from your posting within the next month and want the Grosvenor "checked out", let me know. I travel the area a lot and wouldn't mind seeing it and reporting.

My husband and I stayed at the Grosvenor a couple of years ago while I attended a business function. It was kind of old, like a converted Best Western, or something, and not very fancy. However, it had a nice pool and very nice hotel staff. We were at first disappointed and then came to like it simply because of the wonderful staff. The pool bar people told us they have several families from Europe, etc., that come there every year just because of the friendly people.
They had complimentary transportation to the Disney sites, so that was nice, too.
I think you would enjoy it. It's just that you don't want to expect a really upscale resort.
I stayed at the Grosvenor Resort two years ago with my son for 8 days. It's not fancy, but it's clean, nice and the staff is wonderful. Has a nice restaurant with reasonable prices. It's within walking distance to the Disney Village, Pleasure Island and Planet Hollywood. I would stay there again. If you're looking for something different try the All Star Resort. It's almost the same price range. That was our first choice, but they were booked full for the time we wanted so we went to grosvenor. E-mail me if you want any additional info. Have fun!!
