The Original Farmers Market is, IMO, superior to the Grand Central Market in downtown LA.

I don't know about Grand Central, but I have always loved the old original Farmers Market in LA. It's been around 'forever' and is a really wonderful spot to visit.

Hate Grand Central, and frankly, if you're driving, you spend a lot in parking charges downtown. It's expensive (I was downtown today and paid $32.50 to park for 5 hours).

OTOH, every time I go to Farmer's Market on 3rd, I just smile. It's a good memory that doesn't go bad, no matter how many years it's been since the last time you went. Still have the donut place, the bread place, the peanut butter place, the fruit place, then all the other little places to eat. Weekends in summer there's also concerts.

I think Grand Central Market is very interesting.Mostly for displays of prepared ethnic foods, especially Mexican.
Two famous L.A. landmarks,Angel's Flight and the Bradbury building are across the street.Don't drive, take the subway.Pershing Square station is next door.

Next time you drive downtown, try parking at Pershing Square.
