groceries in venice...

Are there any little grocery shops in Venice to purchase snacks and wine for our hotel, if we want an evening glass of vino while getting ready...? Ciao! Jcat.

I can't give you specific names or addresses but you'll have no problem finding snacks or wine. We were with our kids, who like to have snakcs in the room. There are little grocers all over. I actually enjoy checking out little food shops when I travel in Europe, especially those cute little places with the dried mushrooms and sausages hanging in the window! My kids like the new and different varieties of snack items as well.

Enjoy.

As everyone else stated, there are smaller markets where you can buy fruit, snacks, wine, etc. However, there are only three larger grocery stores in Venice. If you are interested in one of the larger groceries (for more selection), I know one of them is located in San Polo, about a block or two south of Campo San Aponal.
