Greek Parade in NYC this weekend?

Does anyone know anything about this parade?
I found some info on a website but not enough to help me understand whether it is worth watching or not.
Thanks!

Depends on what you define as worth watching - I'll explain. About 10 years ago my office overlooked Madison Avenue at 47th Street. I went in on a Sunday which turned out to be the Turkish Day Parade. Across 47th Street was a large groups of Greeks and Cypriots. As every one of the groups from the Turkish Day Parade made a left onto 47th, they stopped first at the corner to yell at the Greek protestors who spent the day yelling at the Turks who stopped to yell at them.

Anyway, back to my original point, if you consider ages old rivalries and an afternoon of "Greek Dog" "Turkish Pig" tit-for-tat, then it is highly interesting. Just find out where the Turks are protesting and watch the human spectacle.

That is hilarious Ryan!
It may be fun... only in NY would such a thing happen.
While I'm at it, does anyone know a good NYC website to look at local events and freebies?
Thanks again, Ryan!

Not sure if they have it online, but try either TimeOut NY and the Village Voice. The latter is free in hardcopy form if you can't get a hold of it online.
