Great Trip to S.F.
wanted to let everyone know about our recent trip to San Francisco. Took my first chance(?) on Priceline and got the Stanford Court for $80/night. Wonderful place to stay. Can't recommend it highly enough. Staff was great. Concierge was most helpful as we purchased two Muni passes and needed lots of info as we went three days without a car.
Restaurants visited Scale of 1-10 (10 the best) Slanted Door----9 Delfina---------8 Piperade--------7 Kokkari---------7 Isa-------------8 Fournou's Oven--8 stanford Court Resteraunt McCormick & Kuleto's--------2 The service was fine at all but Piperade and Delfina. We also did the tourist thing at Alcatraz, went to the Chinese New Years Parade, strolled thru Union Square. We took 1 day and rented a car and went to Muir Woods and on to Point Reyes(highlight of the trip). We only saw a handfull of homeless people and never felt terribly uncomfortable. WHAT A WONDERFUL CITY you all have. Thanks to all those who posted for the info |
Fasten your seatbelts beacause now we will see his aliases begin to attack me for pointing out this crazy guy.

Have you seen a doctor, Robinsen?

Without getting into this insane argument that will surely brew, I would just point out here that the SF Visitors Bureau would hardly promote Priceline! Cities earn far less tax dollars when a room is booked via a hotel discount site.

If we can ignore the San Jose tourist bureau for a moment, treeman, could you tell us what was bad about the service at Delfina? I've always had such great service there. But the bad service at Piperade doesn't surprise me in the least.

The service at Delfina was just fair while the food was good. We did well until it was time for desert and the check. At that point we had difficulty locating our waiter.
