Great Pool Miami - Ft Lauderdale area

I am looking for a hotel right on the beach with an outstanding pool area anywhere in the Miami - Fort Lauderdale area. All price ranges are appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Fountainbleu
Eden Roc
Westin Diplomat
Biltmore (not on beach)
The Raleigh

My mind is drawing a blank but that is a good start.

If you like something historical the Venetian Pool in Coral Gables (close to Ft. Laud) is fantastic, fresh filtered spring water pumped in everyday and is a venetian setting with waterfalls and a grotto, from 1921, I love it!!!!

The pool looks beautiful but I really want a hotel right on the ocean. I checked out the hotels GoTravel suggested and they are beautiful but quite expensive. Any less expensive ideas?

When are you going? If in August, that's your problem...hotels are full of Brazilians and Europeans.

The National, Loewe's South Beach

I started to check prices. They seem to start at $175 and up. I was under the assumption it would be less in August. Does anyone know any specials.

Try the Sheraton Yankee Trader or Sheraton Yankee Clipper.

They might be getting a bit dated now but I think they're under $100 per night.

They're near each other.

On the ocean and have pools.

Very few deals in August...Miami is overrun with Brazilians then.

Check to see if http://www.roomsaver.com has any special discount prices for hotels in the area you'd like, I've used them in the past with some good results. Another option would be to look into the smaller hotels/motels in the area of Dania Beach or even the mid to northern section of Miami Beach. You'd be right off the stretch of beach, if not right on it, then within several feet from it. Hope that's of help to you, enjoy your trip, and the Lord bless you!

I was just told there is a new Hilton in Fort Lauderdale. Does anyone know anything about it?

i looked around at this hotel while staying at the St Regis down the street. It is an all suite property and is nice. The pool is not "outstanding". It was kind of small, retangular, and overrun with children when I was there.
