Wanted to get opinions on places to go in Chicago (bars, hot spots, etc.) for a young 40-something.

Any recommendations for places within walking distance of N. Michigan area ... staying at downtown Marriott would like to stay within walking distance.

Are you dead set on walking distance? A very large portion of GREAT things to do in Chicago (especially less touristy things)are a bit farther from the N. Michigan Ave. area.

I think there are 2 Cheryls posting here. My 40-something reccomendations don't need to be within walking distance - a not too expensive cab ride would be fine too. Thanks!
