Great hotel in Ketchum or Sun Valley or Hailey Idaho?

Four couples will be visiting the Idaho Rocky Mountain Resort in July. Because of flight times we would like to spend the first and last nights of our trip in either Sun Valley, Ketchum or Hailey. I have found a Best Western, the Knob Hill Inn, and the Sun Valley Resort. Could anyone recommend any other options? Thanks!

I stayed at the Sun Valley Lodge two years ago and it was charming... great location... and lots of history.

Thanks, jennymary. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. We stayed there about two years ago and loved it. But would you believe it is completely sold out for our dates in July? I am assuming it is a convention and the rooms are blocked, but I am trying to see if there are any alternatives.

We were in Ketchum for two days over Labor Day weekend and stayed at the Best Western Tyrolean. It's a 2 star property at best; an older property, nothing special, very small rooms, but adequate for a short stay. Short walk from "downtown" Ketchum.

Sun Valley Lodge is the premiere property in the area, but pricey. There is another Best Western property (Kentwood Lodge) in Ketchum that appears to be newer & nicer than the Tyrolean. We were looking at staying there, but over Labor Day, many of the hotels in Sun Valley/Ketchum, including the Best Western Kentwood, had 3 night minimums and we only planned on being there 2 nights.

If you are coming from a resort property, you will likely be disappointed with anything other than the Sun Valley Lodge or perhaps Knob Hill Inn.

Thanks, MileKing. I have my heart set on Knob Hill for our last night and Ellsworth Estate in Hailey near the airport for our first night. I am afraid my companions (and DH) may insist on the Best Western and it helps to have your assessment of the two choices.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
