Great diners for breakfast??

Any favorite genuine diners (mid-town and the east-80s) for breakfast?

I guess you're talking about NYC.
EJ's is great with a diner type atmosphere, but lined with the local yuppies. There's a great one at 73rd and 3rd -- too far from the east 80's?

E.A.T. at Madison and 81st is also great, but pretty pricey for what it is. Not sure I'd call it an authentic diner, though. It's too good for that.

The green kitchen at 77th and First is very good. EJ's is good, but overly crowded.

Here are my choices for the Upper East Side:

Googie's on 2nd Ave at 78th -- Italian diner, fancy diner
EJ's -- 3rd Ave at 73rd -- fancy
Starz diner -- 1st Ave at 76th
Viand -- 86th & 2nd
can't think of the name of it -- 3rd Ave at 88th

DO NOT go to Green Kitchen -- it's dark and dirty. Yuk!

Another resounding vote for GOOGIE'S. Crowded and cash only on weekends -- not as crowded and credit cards accepted on weekdays.

Also, farther south near Bloomingdale's, TRAMWAY on 2nd Ave at 60 Street.

I just went to the Stardust on or around 51st St typical 50's style with I love Lucy playing on an old TV .......but the best part was that each of the wait staff belts out a tune [one at a time] every few minutes or so....... and the food was decent as well. Definately a great place to see New Yorks most talented waiters and waitresses!!!
