Great Depression
I am interested in travelling to a area more depressing than where I currently live. Maybe this will make me feel better. Any suggestions?

Any small Texas town would do the trick. Nothing but a bunch of trailer trash, run down old buildings and people that are more interested in your business then their own. Spend a few days in any number of these towns and see how quickly you fall into the gossip fold, especially if you don't go to the local Baptist church!

I'd vote for being a neighbor of the Fodors censor. He/she is obviously a frustrated humorless person who would send anyone into a depression.

Good, now I got that monkey off my back.

Travel to the inner recesses of your mind, nothing more depressing than that.

Have a great trip.

Any farming town, where people did not participate in the great economic bubble of the 1990s but where they will have to suffer along with the rest of us in the great economic bust of the first decade of the millenium.
