Great Burgers in Chicago?
We are traveling to Chicago this weekend and are looking for a restaurant that has great burgers. We will be staying near Navy Pier. However, we don't mind venturing to Lincoln Park, etc. We prefer to eat somewhere that is not a chain. Any help would be great.
Thanks! |
While it is part of a small chain, I think--the burgers at Bandera, 535 N. Michigan Avenue, are fantastic.

The burgers that always got high marks are Rosebud Rosebud Steak House on Walton, Boston Blackie's and Select Cut Steak House. Chicago Magazine publishes an annual list, but explained that some of the long-time favorites dropped off the list. The 2009 list is at http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/Dining/.

What? No Billy Goat Tavern?
Just kiddin' but we still have to stop by and have one and a beer with Nick the Bartender. |
Boston Blackie's and it's near your hotel too.

I had the best burger at the New Line Bar down the street from the French Market at Olvine Station (That is not spelled correctly). It looked like just your neighborhood bar. It was kind of shiny so it may have been newer. The burger was served on a pretzel bun. Excellent with a glass of wine.
