Thanks for the link. Most of the history I knew, but there were some interesting bits here. As a corporate "working stiff" who lives in the area, I never felt quite comfortable in the neighborhood, nor like it was a neighborhood, but you can't beat the proximity to CP and "dropping into" the Met is a casual thing for me that I take for granted.

My grandmother lived at 85th and Park Avenue.
I was laughing at the article because I am related to Mrs. Astor--she is distant cousin. I thought it was funny when they said she would "plotz" if she knew her house was torn down to build a synogogue. Thingorjus |
