Great Airfare Price PHL-HNL!

FYI....I just booked a June RT Philadelphia - Honolulu Continental flight for $456.62 per person. That's the best east coast to Hawaii price I've seen in quite some time. (and it's only one connection!) We're actually heading to Kauai so we'll be adding another $150 for the inter-island connection but it's still a lot less than what we've paid for our last two trips to Kauai. Now I can spend the next 7 months dreaming about our return to paradise!

dfarr,
If you would like to save even more: apply for a United Plus Visa card. They are offering 20,000 miles with your first purchase. United has an agreement with Aloha Airlines that allows you to fly inter island for 5,000 skymiles. We are flying to Maui in July then on to Kona and then to Honolulu. The 20,000 skymiles saved us $600 on inter island flights.

Budman....Actually I saw a banner on Travelocity announcing "Honolulu for less....Philadelphia departures for $407+RT". Usually those adds are just teasers and rarely can you actually find a fare that actually works. The low fares didn't show up on any of my usual airfare searches. I was able to book it directly on the Continental web page.

sjmallory....thanks for the tip. I'll look into using United miles for my inter-island flights. Is that 5000 miles RT or one way?

RT. In our case we are going from ogg to koa to hnl for 5,000. Since the RT to ogg went through HNL(which is where we are departing from to the mainland)they considered it a RT. The only weird part is that you have to go through United not Aloha: United makes a request for the date and time you want then you have to call them back in 12 hours to see if your request went through.

ga9497...We depart Philadelphia on June 21 and return on July 7

sjmallory...Is there a special United number you have to call to do this? I tried the online awards reservation page and it showed no dates available.

dfarr,
try this: http://www.united.com/ it looks like they are only offering 17,500 miles with your first purchase, that is still almost four round trip tickets. Good Lucky

sjmallory....I actually already have enough United miles to book the two of us the three interisland flights we need. Honolulu-Hilo then Hilo-Lihue and then Lihu-Honolulu. I called in my request today and will find out tomorrow if I got them. Thanks to your tip, if this all works out, we'll be taking in 3 days on the big island that we weren't originally planning and still saving at least $300. Thanks again and I'll keep you posted!
