Grapevine, TX restaurant for casual business dinner

I need to find a location for a casual business dinner in the Grapevine area, out of state management and local people coming from Arlington and Lewisville. Around 20-21 people but I don't need a seperate room. Price is moderate - probably no more than $16 or so per entree. Abuelo's was mentioned (for a price perspective) but there isn't one in the area. Food can be anything except Asian - thinking Mexican, BBQ, Italian.

Saw a couple of places in downtown Grapevine - Love and War in Texas and Tolbert's. Anyone ever been to either of these?

Any other suggestions?

Love and War would fit the bill. Food is not spectacular, though, even at the price.

You might check to see if Pappadeaux will work with you on offering a limited menu. Pappadeaux has entrees in your price range, but also higher. Easy to stack up the add ons at Pappadeaux and turn a $15 dinner into $30. The food is very good and they could handle a group of your size comfortably.

Thanks for the feedback on Love and War and the Pappadeaux suggestion. Those add-ons could add up quickly!

I live in Grapevine, and we love to eat out.

DO NOT go to Tolbert's. The food is just OK, and is WAY overpriced! We've been there once and won't go back.

L&W is OK. Menu has a lot of variety but food is just OK.

Pappadeaux is way south in Bedford, and you will have a tough time there meeting your price requirement. Abuelo's is even further away in Hurst. Both of these are chain restaurants that have good food, but nothing special.

Spring Creek BBQ wold work for your group's size and price range. Food is good and they have a room you can reserve. There is one on the south side of 114 at Main Street.

I personally recommend Cafe Italia. (No website, but you can find phone # online.) It's on NW Hwy just west of Main Street. This is a small, family-owned Italian place with really good food. You would want to reserve the "back room" for your group. It's also BYOB. I've brought groups there before and everyone enjoyed it!

Have a great time in Grapevine!!
