Grand Wailea Discounted
 

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Wailea in Maui about 3 yrs ago.LOVED IT!!!, but paid thru the nose for a room. Does anyone know of a tour operator that offers discounts or good package deals (air included) for the Grand Wailea???

I would be interested in knowing the answer to that question too.

Try pricing the trip thru Classic Custom Vacations. They are a large Hawaiian package broker.
They have the GW in their program and package discounts, though you'll still need to check on whether or not it really saves you money to book the package vs a la carte.

Try luxurylink.com. In their auction section, they have a 5-night stay at the GW with a lot of perks and resort fees included.

As for air deals, Hawaiian Air has had great deals for some time now (eg ~$300 RT from the west coast) so check them out as well.

I didn't see a Grand Wailea package under either the standard or best shot auctions on luxurylink.com unless I just missed it. I did find 2 options under their best buy section (no bidding) one with air and one without but generally I find their best buys aren't that great of a deal.

It's there under auctions (USA: West Coast & Hawaii) as "Tropical Tour de Force"

One thing to bear in mind is that the package is for a "deluxe ocean view" room where the standard rack rates are $700 and typical discounted rates are around $600.

Just a couple of tips for those not familiar with luxurylink.com. I always call to check availability for my dates before bidding (most of the time there is availability but once I was told no by the Chateau Lake Louise so I didn't bid). This doesn't guarantee availability but odds are they're not going to sell out of a particular room category between your call and the close of auction. Just in case though, try to have one alternate set of dates. Sometimes there's no bidding activity until close to the end of the auction and suddenly there are lots of bidders competing. Make sure you set a max price in your head in advance and don't be tempted to over bid in a last minute frenzy.
