Grand Tetons/Yellowstone Guided Hikes/Tours

My husband and I and our two children (10 and 15 yrs) are heading to Jackson Hole next week. We will be staying at Signal Mountain Lodge (3 nights), Old Faithful Inn (3 nights) and Lake Yellowstone (2 nights). We like to hike and hear about history and wildlife. Can anyone suggest guided day hikes or horse/llama day trips for these areas? We plan to hike on our own but would like a few guided ones to gain the extra information on the area and to perhaps see a remote area away from the crowds. Hikes from 3 - 6 hours in length should be OK for us - steep is OK too. Any other ideas to experience the wilderness?

There have been many recent discussions on this topic, too much to write in one post, did you do a search? I will top a few for you.

I suggest you get a copy of Frommer's excellent "Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks" guide. It's a valuable resource for planning a trip there.

Yes I have searched - but I havent found much on private company tours - looks like the Rangers cover most hiking options. I was looking for a recommendation for whitewater rafting down the Snake River -- hopefully conveniently located near the Signal Mountain Lodge.

Thank you and apologies - found enough on whitewater rafting and rodeos -
