Grand Tetons in September
Has anyone been to The Grand Tetons, etc. during September? If so, how was the weather, etc.?
September is a great time to be in the Teton--comfortable days and cool nights. Plus, most of the tourists are going and the leaves are turning.
We visited the Tetons in mid-September a couple of years ago. The days were sunny and pleasant, but be prepared for the nights to get quite cool. We had to turn on the heat in our cabin at Coulter Bay.

Oh, to be there to see the aspens turn gold!
We were there in September and the days were absolutely fantastic. Be prepared though for cold nights, especially if you're in a tent like we were!!
Correction on my previous posting: It should read that most of the tourists are GONE.

We were there for a long weekend over labor day last year. It was rainy the first day or 2, with snow at high altitude, but the remaining few days were beautiful. Definitely not as crowded in town - did not run into the long waits at restaurants - but campgrounds were still pretty full. One rainy day we just drove up to Yellowstone - different weather pattern there!
