Grand Teton National Park - Jackson Lake Lodge Cottage or Lodge Room?

Quick question. I am trying to decide on what type of lodging to go with at Jackson Lake Lodge in GTNP. We are 2 adults and 2 kids under 10. They have the cottages and main lodge rooms. Not sure which way to go . . .
There has been a lot of mixed reviews about the Lodge.

Thanks everyone!!!

Haven't stayed in the cabins/cottages, but had a very nice room in the lodge. We were on the backside in the wing that's to the "left" of the main entrance. We had an unobstructed view across the meadows to the Tetons - truly amazing scenery and saw quite a bit of wildlife.

Hello MBM

Last fall, we stayed in one of the cottage rooms. As you are looking at the main lodge from the parking area, we were on the left side about 3/4 of the way back to the main road.

There were 2 double beds, a small round table and two chairs, dresser, desk, coffeemaker, dressing area, and the bathroom. There was even a porch area with a couple chairs just outside the door.

We were very pleased with the room and would definitely stay there again.

When we checked out, we were told that the rooms were all getting two queens beds in the coming year.

We ate in the Mural Room a couple times for dinner and lunch, and really enjoyed it. The views from there are fabulous! We also ate in the little 50s style diner for dinner (easier on the pocketbook - I think your kids would enjoy it, with the counter stools and more casual atmosphere).

Happy travels!

I am going to book the cottage, it seems that the 2 Queens are in place now and they are larger than the rooms in the main lodge. None of the rooms left have a view.

Thanks for your replies!!

We had a "non-view" room as well. It was a non-issue for us. You're in the middle of a national park! You won't be in your room much anyway.
