Grand Canyon Sedona Flagstaff - itinerary advice

This is my first posting after enjoying reading this board for several months.

Hubby and I are going to Arizona for 2 weeks over Christmas. We will be based in Tucson, visiting family.

We arrive in Tucson on the 18th December and are planning to head up to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Sedona - back in Tucson on Christmas Eve.

Does this itinerary look okay?
19th Drive to Flagstaff
20th Explore Flagstaff. Arrive GC late afternoon.
21st Grand Canyon
22nd Leave GC and head to Sedona
23rd Sedona
24th Leave Sedona for Tucson

From Flagstaff to the GC, should we take route 89 and then onto route 64, or should we go straight up 180.

What places "shouldn't we miss"

Thanks a bunch

Go to Jerome. A wild west ghost town in the mountains a must see.

take 89 and 64 - more scenic. san francisco peaks, sunset crater for drive-through, then follow the colorado river from cameron into grand canyon.

be sure to take oak creek canyon, 89a, between sedona and flagstaff. maybe on the way down is more scenic, but beautiful drive either way.

museum of northern arizona is on north side of flagstaff and is very, very good. worth a stop.

p.s. actually, it's the little colorado river. you have great views of the canyon it makes as it travels to meet the big colorado.
