Grand Canyon Rim View Cabins, Bryce, Zion Lodges

Has anyone stayed at the rim-view cabins of the North Rim Grand Canyon, or the cabins in Bryce or Zion Lodges recently. I heard that some may have been refurbished. I would love to hear what the condition of the rooms were. Regarding the rim-view cabins, how was the view and were they really on the "rim". Thanks.

I stayed in the cabins at both Zion and Bryce last month and was pleased. They were cozy and clean, and each had a gas fireplace, which was why I chose the cabin over the lodge rooms.

We just stayed at both the Bryce and Zion lodge motel units. They were virtually identical, clean, spacious, and fairly new looking. They had private balconies and were very quiet. The Bryce unit was about 1/2 mile from the rim, but we couldn't see it thru the trees. At Zion, we were surrounded by spectacular cliffs. One other advantage to Zion lodge guests is that they are given passes to drive into the park to the lodge. We also has mule deer grazing right under our balcony.

The cabins aren't really on the edge of the rim, and in a wooded area, so you can't really see the canyon at all. It's only a very short walk over though.
