Grand Canyon Luxury Hotel

Can anyone recommend a very nice hotel in the Grand Canyon area?
We will be in Vegas for a wedding and would like to take a 2-3 day trip to the grand Canyon. What hotel/resort would be the finest?
Thanks!

The El Tovar is in the park on the south rim.....great rustic lodge with all the trimmings. Just step outside and there's the canyon in all its glory.

It's rated #1 on Trip Advisor for the Grand Canyon area!

Thank you. The El Tover looks nice. We usually love to travel and stay at luxury resorts, but I know that the view of the Grand Canyon will be the luxury.
I had trouble finding their own website with rates and reservations. I'll keep trying.
Also, how far is the resort from Las Vegas?

Xanterra handles the bookings for GC, Zion & Bryce in-park hotels.

They also book up way in advance.

jallard,

I think you are going about this the wrong way. Our National Parks were created to preserve the wilderness and provide a wilderness experience.

So, don't expect a " luxury resort" inside a Natl Park. The lodges don't have TV, room service or spas. They are definitely NOT 5*.

You won't get cell coverage in most areas of Natl Parks. Just around the lodges, if you are lucky.

Hint: search the internet for National Parks. It's a .gov site. You'll find the links for Xanterra, the operator that handles most of the western US lodging.

There are some National Parks that are near enough to towns that you can find luxury resorts. The Amanjani in Jackson (near Teton Natl Park) comes to mind.
