Grand Canyon Hotels
We were only able to get a room at the Yavapai Lodge in the non air-conditioned wing. Not sure we want to do that even for one night in early June. Other suggestions?

We stayed there for one night in July. Windows open and ceiling fan, in a wooded area, too...it was just fine and we would stay there again.

we loved the el tovar. walking out from a few steps out the door - literally - right to the rim is amazing. the rooms are older, but fine. the place is charming. we LOVED the location. getting up for sunrise, i walked out of the lodge and ran right into 10-15 deer right in front of the door eating grass. stunning. i was in "their home", but only visiting. very special. that same night, we saw a comet light up the ENTIRE canyon as though someone shined a light - it was brighter than daylight. it will be a memory forever and unlike anything we will ever see again i am sure. talk about being at the right place at the right time....

I'd keep trying for another hotel right up to the final hour...there are always cancelations....right on the rim is awesome...sunrise and sunset.....Bright Angel,Thunderbird,Kachina and El Tovar----
