Granby restaurants

Ever been to Granby? And any eating establishments you'd recommend?
Thanks

If you are referring to Granby, CO on the West side of Rocky Mt Natl Park, then there is not really much of a town that I know of. Just a few motels & convenience stores/gas stations. We arrived at night already having eaten dinner & stayed at the Homestead Motel.

We ate breakfast next day at the Grand Lake Lodge in RMNP.

We ate at a good German restaurant there a few years ago.

I think the 'German' restaurant there is the Longhorn, which serves other types of food, too. Granby is very 'down home', not fancy one bit and not much to choose from.

There's a new development going in there, I think it's called Grand Elk, which is bringing retail chains, a golf course, etc, so the town is changing 180 degrees now.

From Granby, you can drive a few minutes south to Paul's Place, a nice restaurant at SilverCreek (or whatever they call that resort now). But call in advance, because it could be closed for remodeling now.

Or, the Grand Lake Lodge is fabulous; also decent Mexican at Pancho and Lefty's in Grand Lake; good dinners at Caroline's near Grand Lake, too. Grand Lake is about 25 minutes from Granby.

Otherwise, you can drive to Fraser and Winter Park, which are about 20- 30 minutes south of Granby, and you'll have lots of choices.

Just not much in Granby now, unless something brand new has opened. I heard a steak place, 'Wilder something' is opening there soon, so maybe is there by now. Try Granby Chamber of Commerce.

Thanks folks. Right now Grand Lake Lodge looks the most inviting but I don't know if the timing will be right for a meal, but maybe we can at least get a beverage on the front porch.
Glad you brought it to my attention.
Couldn't find anything about Grand Elk on the Web.

Sundancer, probably more info. than you want or need, but here's an article from the Denver Post regarding Grand Elk Ranch in Grand County
http://askscottnow.com/arrow/billion.htm

It's so early in its development, that you won't see much of it, except the City Market is open now (and the local pharmacy and grocery have closed!). Maybe a new restaurant is there by now, as I said.

If you visit Grand Lake Lodge, they do serve a lunch buffet. Or you can always get a soda or spirits to drink in their lobby or on their porch. It's a beautiful view of the lake from there.
