Grafton or Woodstock

I hear Grafton is a must see, I also hear the same thing about Woodstock. If I have to choose one, which one would you choose and why?

If I had to choose between the two, I would probably opt for Woodstock. Both are pretty, small towns, but Grafton is VERY small. You'll have a wider range of choices of restaurants, activities etc in Woodstock. They arent very far apart, so you can always go visit one or the other depending on which one you choose!

I've visited Woodstock twice and really enjoyed it.

I liked the Apple Butter Inn, a small B&B with friendly owners and good food. I thought the Woodstock Inn (the large hotel at the town square) is overrated. The rooms aren't at all quaint and it's overpriced.

Like the others, I lean toward staying in/near Woodstock. Grafton is pretty much a one-horse town (though lovely)--One inn with dining room, a cheese factory, a small deli, that's about it. If the weather's not bad, its a reasonably short drive to Chatham(?)
whihc is a couple block long strip with small shops and a resonably priced restaurant or two.
Woodstock is a small town with several streets, many upscale restaurants and a couple more reasonable ones, gourmet delis, boutiques and art galleries. There are a few nice inns/b&bs right at the edges of town that are more reasonably priced than the huge Woodstock Inn (though I like going there to sit by the fireplace in the lobby to warm up).
YOu can also drive to Queeche to see the gorge (what time of the year are you traveling), pick up some tacky souvenirs, find more places to eat, etc

Another vote here for Woodstock. What a cute town!
