GPS system for runners/travelers
Hi My husband is a marathon runner, and would like to start running longer runs even while we're on vacation in new places. Has anyone ever used any type of GPS (or something similar) that you can wear on your wrist or shirt? Something so that he could not get lost in unfamiliar countryside? Really, he's been running for years, rarely gotten lost, but I think this would be a very cool birthday present. Thanks

I received the following wrist GPS several years ago. I'm not much of a runner and have never used it.

A friend of mine runs with a GPS unit. They can be better outside of the city or in parks. When we've gone out for a run together it doesn't pick up the signal if we're in a built up area. Once we hit the parks it's fine. So our 10 miles was recorded as 3 miles.

I think the Garmin is the best runners watch out there. From my understanding, it is what the Marine's wear.
I borrowed my friends for the NYC Marathon.
